What is the ruling on prayer after a dog licks one's foot, whether intentionally or unintentionally?

Scholars differ regarding the impurity of a dog. The preponderant and authoritative opinion among us is that it is impure. Therefore, anything licked by a dog becomes impure and must be washed seven times, one of which is with earth or soap. If a Muslim prays intentionally without purifying what the dog licked from his body, his prayer is invalid and he must repeat it due to violating the condition of bodily purity. However, if he was forgetful or ignorant, his prayer is valid according to the majority of scholars, though it is more cautious to repeat it. As for the Malikis and those who agree with them, they see no issue, as the dog is considered pure by them.
