Is it permissible to share in the sacrificial offering (Udhiyah), and how many Muslims can share in it?
It is permissible to share in an udhiyah (sacrificial animal) if it is a camel or a cow, as seven people can share in one of them. However, it is not permissible to share in a sheep. The evidence for this is what Muslim narrated from Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them), who said: "We sacrificed with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in the year of Al-Hudaybiyah, a camel on behalf of seven, and a cow on behalf of seven." A cow and a camel are sufficient for seven, whether they are from one household or different households, and whether they are related or not.
