As for Quranic interpretations, they emerged with the differing interests of the exegetes. Some focused on interpretation based on transmitted reports (such as Al-Tabari and Ibn Kathir), some focused on deriving rulings (such as Al-Qurtubi), and some were interested in linguistic aspects (such as Al-Zamakhshari). These efforts are complementary and have benefited the Muslim nation, but they are not without shortcomings.
