Is it permissible for an employee who owns a rented house, receives a good salary, and has free accommodation from the company, to take money from an endowment (waqf) designated for the needy to purchase another house?

It is permissible to take from an endowment if the condition of the endower applies to you. However, if you do not fall within the category entitled to the endowment—for instance, if you are wealthy and the endowment was designated for the poor—then it is not permissible for you to take from it, even if the supervisor of the endowment oversteps by giving it to you. This is because the intention of the endower is to be observed and acted upon.
