What are the limits for a Muslim regarding his marriage to a non-Muslim woman?

It is forbidden to marry disbelieving women, according to the Almighty's saying: "And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe." However, He Almighty made an exception for marrying women from the People of the Book (Jewish and Christian women), as He said: "and the chaste women from those who were given the Scripture before you." As for disbelieving women who are not from the People of the Book (such as Buddhist, Hindu, and communist women), it is absolutely impermissible to marry them. It is preferable for a Muslim to avoid marrying a woman from the People of the Book due to the potential neglect of children that may result from such a marriage.
