Is it permissible for five families to share two rams, while sending the price of three rams to Palestine?

If the rams are for sacrifices (udhiyah), then it is not permissible for families to share the price of one sacrifice, because a sheep is sufficient only for one person, by agreement of scholars. It is sufficient for the household and their dependents. It is not sufficient to give the value of the sacrifice as charity; rather, it must be slaughtered. However, if three families send the price of their sacrifices to be slaughtered on their behalf in Palestine and their meat given as charity, then this is permissible. In this case, each of the remaining two families would have their own separate sacrifice without sharing with the other families, and they may give some of the meat from their sacrifices to the other families as a gift. But if these rams are not for sacrifice but rather for charity, then it is permissible to share their price and give part of it as charity.
