Is it permissible to sell a laptop that was tested in a mosque, where its battery was not working and it was tried using the mosque's electricity, with another potential buyer present?

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade buying and selling in the mosque. Scholars differed on whether this prohibition signifies tahreem (prohibition rendering an act unlawful) or karaaha (dislike/discouragement), and whether the contract is valid or not. The majority of scholars held that the contract is valid, though disliked, while the Hanbalis maintained that the contract is void and forbidden. The preponderant view is the validity of the sale because the prohibition relates to a cause external to the essence of the sale.
