Is money earned from changing residency to get a higher salary, while continuing to live with one's parents, considered lawful (halal) or unlawful (haram)?

It is not permissible to change one's residency as a ruse to obtain a grant while remaining with one's parents. What is taken through such means is unlawful (haram), because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever cheats is not one of us." It is not permissible to cheat, deceive, or unlawfully consume the wealth of a non-Muslim. A Muslim should demonstrate the virtues of their religion through justice and good conduct.
