What is the ruling on fasting and prayer if both seminal and pre-seminal fluid are discharged due to thoughts, and the time of their discharge is not clear?
Doubt about the emission of semen while awake or asleep does not invalidate the fast, because a wet dream does not invalidate it, nor does its emission through thought. However, intentionally emitting semen through masturbation or similar acts invalidates the fast.
Regarding prayer, if what was discharged was madhy (pre-seminal fluid), then istinja' (washing the private parts) and wudu' (ablution) are required. But if it was maniy (semen), then ghusl (ritual bath) is required, and prayers performed before ritual purity from it must be repeated.
