Is the gel used in a sonar device pure, or must it be washed off the body?

We have not found anything that prohibits the use of this gel or indicates its impurity. The default status of things is purity. It is mentioned among its properties that it dries quickly after use, leaving no trace and requiring no removal. Therefore, there is no need to wash the part of the body where it was applied.
