Forcing a daughter into marriage by her father is a grave mistake in Islamic law, and the marriage is not binding on her. It is advised to resort to supplication (du'a) and to seek the help of wise family members to intervene and advise. If this does not prove beneficial, then the matter should be brought before a Sharia judge. The husband is advised to fear Allah and release her with kindness, and he is warned against injustice and its worldly and otherworldly consequences, being reminded of his stand on the Day of Judgment. The family is also advised to fear Allah and not to be afraid of people's talk at the expense of wronging their daughter.
