Is the ruling on not wearing the niqab one of being cursed and expelled from God's mercy, like the one who plucks her eyebrows (al-namisah)? Is it permissible to adopt the ruling of permissibility therein gradually, to avoid attracting attention in a society unaccustomed to it, taking into account the current weakness of faith and the fear of an adverse effect on faith? And does not wearing the niqab prevent one from being gathered with the Mothers of the Believers in Paradise?

The preponderant view is that covering the face and hands is obligatory, and uncovering them is an act of disobedience. Feeling helpless is a trick from Iblees, and one must wear the niqab without caring about the corrupt environment, seeking Allah's pleasure, not people's. Accompanying righteous company helps in adhering to this. Not wearing the niqab does not prevent one from being resurrected with the Mothers of the Believers, but those who perform acts of obedience are not equal to those who commit sins.
