Is Mother's Day considered an Islamic holiday?

Mother's Day is an innovation and a newly introduced matter that entered Muslim lands due to the imitation of the West. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever introduces into this matter of ours that which is not from it, it is rejected." Celebrating Mother's Day does not compensate for society's shortcomings regarding the mother's rights. Islam has commanded honoring the mother and being kind to her for an entire lifetime, and has given her great rights. Allah Almighty has linked kindness to parents with His worship and the prohibition of associating partners with Him, and He specifically mentioned the mother in some injunctions to emphasize her greater right. It is obligatory to honor the mother even if she is not Muslim or disobedient. Honoring the mother is not limited to her life but also includes after her death through supplication, seeking forgiveness for her, giving charity on her behalf, and maintaining ties with her relatives. Celebrating Mother's Day is impermissible because it is an innovation, and the guidance of Islam concerning honoring the mother is more complete and perfect.
