Is it possible for Allah to pardon some disbelievers and turn them into dust? And why shouldn't the meaning of eternity in greater disbelief be like the meaning of eternity in major sins that do not expel one from the faith? And is it true that the saying of the annihilation of Hellfire is not an innovation?

Allah the Almighty does not forgive those who die in major disbelief (Kufr Akbar), and their abode is the Fire, as indicated by the verses: "Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills," and "Indeed, whoever associates others with Allah - then Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his abode is the Fire." Disbelievers among the people of the Fire will not turn to dust; rather, they will wish for that upon witnessing the torment, as Allah the Almighty said: "and the disbeliever will say, 'Oh, I wish that I had been dust!'"
