What is discharged from a woman after childbirth, its ruling is the same as postpartum bleeding (nifas), whether it is regular blood, yellowish discharge (sufrah), or brownish discharge (kudrah). This is because it occurs during the usual period until forty days are completed. As for what comes after this period, if it is regular blood and there is no interruption, then it is postpartum bleeding. Otherwise, it is abnormal uterine bleeding (istihadah) or similar.
