Does a suicide victim have a right over his family that necessitates forgiving and pardoning him?

May Allah comfort you in your father's passing, and we ask Allah to grant him mercy and forgiveness. Parents are to be honored both after their death and during their lives, and you should not withhold any good from your father, including forgiving him. His death by suicide does not, Islamically, prevent you from honoring him and showing him kindness.
