Is it permissible to give as charity money that one has borrowed?

It is permissible for you to give Sadaqah from money you have borrowed, because you possess it. The conditions for the permissibility of giving Sadaqah from it are that you have a strong expectation of repaying your debt, and that you do not need this money for your own expenses, nor for the expenses of those whose maintenance is obligatory upon you.
