Is there an abrogated recitation for wiping the feet in wudu, and how was it abrogated?

There is no abrogated verse regarding the wiping of the feet in ablution. Rather, it is one definitive verse: Allah the Almighty says, "O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles" (Al-Ma'idah: 6). Readers have differed on the recitation of "wa arjulakum" (and your feet) with an opening (fatha) on the 'lam' or a breaking (kasra) on it. However, the majority of scholars have agreed on the obligation of washing the feet, based on authentic prophetic hadiths and the actions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. None have differed on this except for the renegades among the Shiites and some of the Dhahiris.
