Is it permissible to address someone named Muhammad as "Sayyid Muhammad" in Morocco?

Ibn al-Qayyim held the view that it is permissible to address humans with the title "Sayyid" (master/chief), citing as evidence the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) statement, "Arise for your Sayyid." He favored this opinion over that which prohibits it, clarifying that the meaning of "Sayyid" when attributed to Allah Almighty differs from its meaning when attributed to a created being.
