What is the ruling on praying the Shaf‘ and Witr as three continuous rak‘ahs without a middle tashahhud during Tarawih prayer? Is it permissible to recite half of Surat Al-A‘la in the first rak‘ah of the Shaf‘? What is the ruling on prolonging the Qunoot supplication and using rhymed prose (saj‘) in it? Is it disliked to supplicate in a manner resembling the recitation of the Quran?

It is permissible to pray Witr with three continuous rak'ahs with a single taslim, and to recite a portion of Surat Al-A'la in the shaf' (even) prayer before Witr. As for rhymed prose (saj') in supplication (du'a), it is disliked, as Ibn 'Abbas prohibited it. The supplication "O You whom eyes cannot see, and whom conjectures cannot comprehend" has no basis, and it is not permissible to chant or stretch the supplication, because it contradicts humility and may lead to showing off.
