If the lost money is insignificant and its owner does not usually bother to look for it, then the finder may benefit from it without announcing it, such as 5 or 10 riyals, and the director is not allowed to dispose of it. However, if it is a large sum, it must be announced for a year, after which the finder may benefit from it. If the finder then relinquishes it to the school director, the director may dispose of it.
