What is the Shar'i (Islamic legal) view on some women intentionally announcing a financial sum for whoever proposes to marry them?

The fundamental principle in marriage is that the man proposes to the woman and spends his wealth on her, which aligns with human nature and the modesty of women. A woman publicly offering herself and her wealth through media outlets is something rejected by sound human nature; it diminishes her dignity and deprives the man of his headship (qawamah), which is based on his financial provision.

Nevertheless, it is permissible for a woman to offer herself privately to a righteous man. She may also assist a righteous young man who is financially unable to marry, provided that this is not done publicly in a way that diminishes her dignity. The man must pay the dowry, and it is not permissible for a woman to entice a married man with money to divorce his wife.
