Is it permissible for one of the spouses to sleep on their left side in order to face the other spouse sleeping on their right side?

Sleeping on the right side is a recommended Sunnah because it makes one more alert and is better for the body. This is also because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded and maintained this practice, for he said: "When you come to your bed, perform ablution as you do for prayer, then lie down on your right side." However, it is permissible to forgo this Sunnah if there is a need for it, such as one spouse wishing for the other to sleep facing them, because the benefit of fostering affection between spouses is greater than performing recommended acts.
