Will the person who memorized the Qur’an then forgot it and died remember the verses he forgot on the Day of Resurrection, and will the one who memorized Surat Al-Kahf then forgot it and died be saved from the Masih Ad-Dajjal?
Forgetting the Qur’an due to negligence is a sin, and some scholars have counted it among the major sins. There is no proof that a person will remember what they forgot on the Day of Judgment. However, whoever strove and committed to it but was overcome by a weak memory is on a good path and is hoped to receive reward. Surat Al-Kahf is one of the means of salvation from the trial of the Dajjal for those who memorize ten verses from its beginning, and whoever dies before his emergence will not be exposed to his trial.
