Can one combine the Maghrib and Isha prayers at the same time, such that if a Muslim has not prayed Maghrib and the Adhan for Isha is called, his prayer is valid as a performance, not a make-up?

The time for Maghrib prayer begins at sunset and extends, according to the majority of scholars, until the disappearance of the red twilight. However, the Malikis hold that its necessary time extends until the appearance of dawn, with sin incurred by anyone who delays it without a valid legal excuse. It is preferable to perform it at the beginning of its time. Whoever delays it until the Adhan of Isha without an excuse commits a grave sin, and it is considered a make-up (qada') prayer, not a timely (ada') performance, according to the majority of scholars.
