What is the ruling on traveling to the Bermuda Triangle, and what is the ruling on going to places where it is said that treasures guarded by snakes or other creatures exist, in order to take them, and what is the ruling on wealth discovered in wildernesses or seas, such as gold and others?

The Bermuda Triangle is a dangerous place in the Atlantic Ocean, and it is not permissible to travel to it for any purpose, based on the Almighty's saying: "And do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction."

As for treasures discovered in the wilderness, if they are recent, they are considered a "luqatah" (found object) and must be announced for a year. If the owner does not appear, they belong to the finder, and must be returned to the owner whenever he appears. If they are ancient and not thought to belong to any known person, they are considered "rikaz" (buried treasure) for the one who finds them, and he must give out one-fifth of them.

Regarding minerals, their exploitation depends on the permission of the Muslim ruler (Imam) or his representative, because their disposal belongs to the Imam. He may grant them to whomever he wishes or designate them for the benefit of the Muslims.
