Is the Almighty’s saying: "And abide in your houses" up to His saying: "Allah only wishes to remove abomination from you, O members of the family, and to purify you with a thorough purification" addressed only to the wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him)? And why do the shaykhs repeat it to all women?

The verse, which ostensibly addresses the wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him), is understood by scholars to include all believing women, as the wives of the Prophet are role models for them, and the women of the Ummah follow them in this address. As for the verse of the veil (hijab), the address therein is to all believing women. The explicit mention of the Prophet's wives and daughters might be due to their honorable status.
