What is the ruling on the recurrence of questioning thoughts about the existence of God and Paradise, and are these whispers evidence of shirk, knowing that I resist them and follow them with the Two Testimonies of Faith?

A Muslim is not held accountable for stray thoughts and whispers of disbelief concerning God, and his dislike for these whispers is a sign of his faith, as stated in the Hadith, "That is pure faith." A Muslim should turn away from these whispers and distract himself from them, repelling them by seeking refuge in Allah and stopping, or by saying, "I believe in Allah," or by reciting the verse: "He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, and He is Knower of all things."
