Do the rewards of one who says, "Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) the number of leaves on the trees," actually multiply by the number of leaves on the trees?
It appears that whoever glorifies God Most High with the formula "Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) a number of such and such" will have the reward of glorifying that number written for him. This is what the Sunnah indicates regarding what is known as multiplied remembrances (dhikr). Al-Shawkani mentioned in "Tuhfat al-Dhakirin" that the hadith indicates that whoever says: "Subhan Allah a number of such and such, and by the weight of such and such," that amount will be written for him.
