What is the ruling on parents replacing their children's fallen teeth with sweets, claiming it is from the "tooth fairy," or children throwing their teeth towards the sun at noon while saying: "O sun, O Shamsousa, take the tooth of the donkey, and bring the tooth of the gazelle," or "Take the tooth of the buffalo, and bring the tooth of the bride"?

These and similar actions are reprehensible and heinous, and they detract from Tawhid (monotheism), for Allah Almighty is the Creator and the Sustainer, and neither jinn nor the sun have any role in any blessing. What is astonishing is the indoctrination of children with these false beliefs instead of teaching them to turn to Allah alone, to ask of Him, and to rely on Him. The Prophet, peace be upon him, clarified to Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, when he was young: "Be mindful of Allah, and He will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him before you. If you ask, ask Allah. If you seek help, seek help from Allah." Al-Shuqairi mentioned, among the reprehensible innovations, addressing the sun when a tooth breaks by saying: "O Sun, O Shumousah, O daughter of Ali and Mousah, take the donkey's tooth and give me the gazelle's tooth!"
