Is kissing the hands of elders permissible as a sign of respect for them?

It is Sunnah to respect and honor the elderly, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, part of glorifying Allah is honoring the Muslim elder." As for kissing his hand, it is a matter of scholarly disagreement if he is known for righteousness and uprightness.
