It is obligatory for the husband to provide for his wife with what is customary of food, housing, and clothing. However, university tuition fees are not obligatory for him, unless the wife stipulated it in the marriage contract, in which case he is bound to fulfill it, and it becomes a right for her. If the husband voluntarily pays these expenses without it being stipulated in the contract, then it is considered a gift from which he cannot retract.
