How sound is the saying that a person's rizq (sustenance) is 24 kirats (carats), distributed among health, wealth, and children?

This saying has no basis in the Quran, Sunnah, or the words of the Salaf. However, one must believe that Allah Almighty has, by His wisdom, distributed provisions among creation. Some are granted abundance, while others are restricted; some are blessed with children, while others are deprived; some are healthy, while others are afflicted. All of this is for profound wisdom. Every servant has a provision and a lifespan that are predetermined eternally by Allah’s wisdom, knowledge, mercy, generosity, and benevolence. Therefore, a servant must be content with what Allah has apportioned for them, and be satisfied with it, without wishing for what others possess, and without accusing Allah regarding His decree and destiny. Instead, they should supplicate to Allah, remember Him, and ask of His bounty.
