Should the maid return the money she earned from selling stolen gold as part of her repentance?

Stolen money must be returned to its original owner. If the money has been destroyed, then the one who destroyed it must return an equivalent amount or its value to its owner, regardless of whether he is wealthy or poor, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "The hand is responsible for what it takes until it returns it." If the original owner of the stolen money is not known, then it should be handled as explained in Fatwa no. 31549.
