Is what happened considered a wet dream, despite the absence of intercourse or visible discharge of semen, along with feeling something akin to the sensation of ejaculation?

The ruling is not based on the state of experiencing a wet dream, but rather on the presence of semen. So, if a person wakes up and finds semen, ghusl (ritual bath) becomes obligatory upon him. If he does not find it, then nothing is required of him, even if he saw himself engaging in intercourse in the dream. This is based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "If she sees the water," and "No ghusl is required of him" who saw that he had a wet dream but did not see any wetness.
