What is the reason for the onset of whispers after reciting Ayat al-Kursi at night, knowing that Ibn Uthaymeen stated that whoever recites it at night will not be approached by Satan until morning?

It has been established that reciting Ayat al-Kursi before sleep protects a Muslim from Satan until morning. If satanic whispers (waswasa) are experienced despite reciting it, this is because dhikr and supplications, such as prayers and ruqya, require acceptance from the reciter's heart, along with faith, humility, and complete presence of mind. Weakness of certainty or the presence of impediments, such as consuming unlawful earnings or committing sins, may prevent their full effect. Supplications are like a weapon; their effectiveness lies in the strength of the wielder (the reciter) and in the strength of their faith and devotion to God.

Waswasa does not contradict the hadith: "Satan will not come near him," because waswasa does not necessitate direct proximity; Satan can whisper from a distance. The statement that Satan ties three knots on the nape of a sleeping person does not contradict the protection of Ayat al-Kursi. This is either an exception, or the knots do not imply direct proximity.
