Why is it not permissible for a woman to follow the Tarawih prayer broadcast on television?

It is not permissible for either a woman or a man to be led in prayer by a television screen or a radio, due to the absence of the condition of spatial connection, which the majority of scholars have stipulated. It is not valid for there to be a large separation between the Imam and the worshipper. The Shafi'is, Hanbalis, and Hanafis have stipulated the unity of the Imam's and the worshipper's location, or the absence of a large separation between them outside the mosque. As for the Malikis, they permitted following a voice, even if distant, but they do not mean the very long distances made possible by modern means, but rather places relatively close to the mosque. Therefore, it is not valid to follow the Imam of the Grand Mosque via television from a distant place.
