What is the difference between Zakat on money and Zakat on trade, and is Zakat on trade paid along with Zakat on saved money?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The zakat on trade goods becomes due on their monetary value upon the completion of a full year (hawl). If their value reaches the nisab, either alone or when combined with other assets, then one-quarter of one-tenth (2.5%) of their value must be given. Thus, zakat is due on trade and money alike.
