What is the ruling on one who made his wife's divorce conditional upon something, then events similar to the original condition occurred, raising doubts for both parties about whether the divorce took place or not?

If there is doubt about the condition upon which a divorce is suspended, the divorce does not take effect, because the default is the continuation of the marriage. Al-Ruhaibani mentioned in "Matalib Uli al-Nuha" that divorce is not necessitated by doubt concerning it or the condition upon which it is suspended, even if it is non-existent, for the default is the continuation of the marital bond until that which removes it is proven.
