What is the ruling on paying for a specific service - such as house tidying - with food instead of money, if both parties agree?

There is no harm in food being a wage, for whatever is valid as a price in a sale is valid as a wage in a lease. The majority of jurists hold that the rent may be a usufruct, even if it is of the same type as the contracted usufruct.
