Is there any suspicion of usury regarding the money that was placed with a friend for investment, then its return was delayed along with an increase in the amount, and would demanding another increase due to the delay be considered usury?
The contract between you two is invalid. If the money was a Mudarabah (profit-sharing partnership), it is invalid, and you both must repent. The profits belong to the owner of the money, and the worker is entitled to a fair wage (ujrat al-mithl). If the money was a loan, it is an interest-based (ribawi) loan, and you are only entitled to your principal.
