What is the ruling on the prayer concerning which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever prays two rak'ahs on the night of Friday, reciting in each rak'ah Al-Fatihah and Al-Zalzalah 15 times, and similarly on the remaining nights of the week with variations in the number of rak'ahs and verses"?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was diligent in performing the night vigil (Qiyam al-Layl), but it has not been authentically reported that he specifically prayed two or more rak'ahs on the night of Friday. Doing so without legal evidence is considered an innovative bid'ah (addition). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever introduces into this affair of ours (Islam) that which is not from it, it is rejected." A Muslim should emulate the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in all aspects of his life, for Allah Almighty says: "There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern," and He Almighty says: "And whatever the Messenger gives you, take it; and whatever he forbids you from, refrain from it."
