Is it permissible for someone in debt to take from his father's Zakat to pay off his debt?

It is permissible for a poor, indebted son to take from his father's zakat, as is the case for a son in need of financial support if the father is unable to provide for him. However, if the father is already providing for him and the son is financially independent, then it is not permissible for him to take from his father's zakat.
