What is the authenticity of the hadiths that encourage writing a will and not sleeping before writing it? Is it obligatory to write a will when one has little money? To whom should the will be made if there is no spouse or children, but parents and well-off siblings are present? Should the money be distributed to them or to the poor and needy?

A will (wasiyah) is a covenant whereby a person entrusts someone to dispose of a portion of their wealth after their death. If a Muslim has rights due to Allah or to people, they are obligated to make a will concerning them. A will can be obligatory, recommended, or forbidden. A woman should write her will to someone she trusts for their piety, devoutness, and uprightness, such as her father or brother, or others who meet the conditions of an executor. A woman is not obligated to distribute her wealth during her lifetime, and it is forbidden for her to bequeath anything to an heir. It is recommended for her to bequeath no more than one-third of her estate to non-heirs, such as the poor and needy, with relatives being more deserving.
