1 min readAlso available in العربية

Al-Fadl ibn Al-Abbas ibn Abd Al-Muttalib, the cousin of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was the eldest son of Al-Abbas. He participated in battles with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, remained steadfast with him at Hunayn, and witnessed the Farewell Pilgrimage with him. His kunyas were Abu Al-Abbas, or Abu Abdullah, or Abu Muhammad. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, took him as a rider behind him during the Farewell Pilgrimage, arranged his marriage, and paid the dowry on his behalf. From his narration concerning the Khath'amiyyah woman during the Farewell Pilgrimage, the impermissibility of a man looking at a woman who is unlawful for him is understood. Also, from the hadith of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, it is understood that a woman should cover her face when strange men pass by.
