Did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, marry Umaimah bint Shurahbil against her will?

Recall the story that preceded the marriage of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to Umaymah bint Al-Nu'man ibn Sharaheel, which shows that he, peace and blessings be upon him, would not keep a woman who did not desire him. He parted with her, honored her, and returned her to her family when she said: "I seek refuge in Allah from you."

This story has been narrated in a way that indicates Umaymah's statement was the result of deception by other women due to their envy of her beauty. Ibn Sa'd mentioned that Al-Nu'man ibn Abi Al-Jawn Al-Kindi offered the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, marriage to Umaymah, and she was willing. However, other women entered upon her and deceived her, making her believe that seeking refuge from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would increase her standing with him. They did this with cunning and trickery.
