Does water running down the throat when sniffing during ablution invalidate the fast?

All praise is due to Allah.

A fasting person is prohibited from overdoing the sniffing of water during ablution, as stated in the prophetic tradition. If water goes down the throat of a fasting person unintentionally during rinsing the mouth or sniffing water, it does not invalidate the fast, because Allah does not hold one accountable for unintentional mistakes.
