What is the ruling on obscene language and cursing religion, and does hearing it from others nullify ablution?

It is not permissible for a Muslim to utter obscene language, for it is a transgression that exposes its perpetrator to Allah's displeasure and contradicts the perfection of faith. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The believer is not a slanderer, nor a curser, nor an obscenity utterer, nor a vulgar person." And he said: "There is nothing heavier in the balance of a believer on the Day of Resurrection than good character, and indeed, Allah detests the obscene and vulgar person." He also said: "Indeed, Allah does not love the obscene and foul-mouthed person." As for insulting religion, it is disbelief that expels one from the fold of Islam. It is not permissible to listen to obscene language with approval, and one must condemn it or leave the place when hearing it. Listening to all of this does not invalidate ablution.
