What can a girl do to atone for the sin of removing her hijab for two years, after she had been veiled and then returned to wearing it, while she maintains her prayers, recites the Quran, and listens to religious tapes and reads religious books?
Praise be to Allah and gratitude to Him for guiding you to repentance from the sin of tabarruj (immodest display), which the Qur’an and Sunnah have forbidden. Repentance has conditions: sincerity to Allah, abandoning the sin, resolving not to return to it, and regret. Whoever repents with these conditions, Allah has promised to accept their repentance, wipe away their sins, and replace them with good deeds, in fulfillment of His saying: "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'"
