Is studying the texts of theoretical monotheism before the texts of practical monotheism considered a problem?

Seeking knowledge is one of the best deeds, and some of it is obligatory upon a servant so that he may know his creed and establish his worship. There is no harm in studying some scholarly texts before others, contrary to the usual practice, even if it is preferable to begin with the basics of knowledge.
